A New Beginning in Toronto
Embarking on a journey of personal and professional growth, Jordan moved to Toronto in 2008 to study theatre arts production at Humber College. Transitioning from a small community to a bustling metropolis, he navigated challenges with resilience and determination.
Return to Nunavut
Facing setbacks in Toronto, Jordan returned to Arviat in 2010 without completing his diploma. Despite the disappointment, he remained steadfast in his resolve to overcome obstacles and contribute to his community.
Spark of Passion
In 2010, Jordan discovered his passion for storytelling through video production when he was approached to record an elder's story for a book. This project ignited a flame within him to capture and share the stories of his community.
Journey of Learning
From 2013 to 2015, Jordan embarked on a journey of learning as a Reporter and Editor for CBC North. This role not only sharpened his skills but also deepened his understanding of production and storytelling.
Evolution as a Video Journalist
Transitioning to a video journalist in 2015, Jordan expanded his capabilities to write, report, shoot, and edit his content for TV and radio news. This evolution showcased his versatility and dedication to his craft.
Recognition and Awards
Jordan's dedication and talent were recognized when he won the Inuit Youth category at the Indspire Awards in 2015. He continued to receive accolades, including the RTDNA Dave Rogers Award in 2019, for his outstanding journalism.
Governor General Leadership Program
In 2022, Jordan was selected for the prestigious Governor General Leadership Program, where he joined a cohort of esteemed leaders from across Canada. This experience not only enriched his leadership skills but also expanded his professional network.
Establishing Konek Production
With a wealth of life and professional experience, Jordon founded Konek Productions, aiming to utilize his skills and knowledge to run a successful business, offering high-quality video production services to his community and beyond.
